Gender & Genre Poster

This image was created for the California Browncoats fan group to use as a postcard and poster to promote their Gender and Genre discussion panel at Wondercon 2007 in San Francisco. My challenge was to create something that would stand out among the thousands of free hand-outs at the convention.

I decided to emulate the style of pulp science fiction magazines from the 50s, with an alluring and intriguing female android on the cover. Using a variety of techniques, from 3D modelling to simulating aging and vintage techniques in Photoshop, I provided the group with a poster that helped them fill the discussion panel room to overflowing.
